About the Regional Partnership

The South Central Alberta Regional (SCAR) Notification System is a regional partnership between the Municipal District of Taber, the Town of Vauxhall, and the Village of Barnwell, the RCMP and South Central Alberta Rural Crime Watch Association in providing valuable information notifications to our public.

The SCAR Notification System is intended to provide a more timely and consistent approach to emergency and municipal communications in our region. Information is grouped by priority consisting of urgent public safety information as well as important municipal information. Our notification system provides options in selecting what information you want to receive and how you want to receive it from a selection of participating municipalities. In addition to communication, we are actively working towards reducing crime through awareness, crime prevention and reporting suspicious activities in the region through the added use of SCAR.
